Café & shop

Located in the entrance building you will find our museum shop and museum café.

The museum shop is located on the ground floor and offers a broad selection of books, souvenirs and gifts. The shop is freely accessible. You can also buy our new publication here for €24.99, which tells the history of our museum and is completed with beautiful photographs.

The café is located on the first floor and has an open and bright atmosphere. Here you can start or finish your visit with a nice cup of coffee or tea, with a very tasteful piece of pie, a lovely lunch inspired on the 17th century kitchen, or a special beer from Brewery De Prael (old beers). The tapestry that fills the entire wall on the right side is designed by our in-house designer Theo Tienhooven, who also designed the display cabinets with archeological findings. The tapestry is based on the original colors that were found in our historical building and which were reinstated during the restoration. Also take a look at the special light object of artist Titia Ex. The café can be reached by stairs and elevator.
Access to the museum café is only possible with an admission ticket to the museum. The museum café can be reached by the stairs or by the lift.
